Download Images: Every Image From Your ChatGPT Chats in One ZIP
Download Images adds a row to ChatGPT's own chat menu, right under Export. Choose it and every image in the chat — the pictures you uploaded and the ones ChatGPT generated — ends up in a single ZIP. The same row sits in the menu of a multi-selection and of a project, so one ZIP can hold the images of many chats. No right-clicking and saving them one at a time: whether the chat is a batch of generated logo variations, a set of reference photos, or a storyboard you built up over dozens of turns, you get the whole set in one file.
Download Images is part of the free ChatGPT Pro Tools extension and sits in the conversation menu you already use. Only have a share link and nothing installed? The free Image Downloader turns a shared chat's link into a ZIP of its images.
What You Get
- Every image at once — all the pictures in a conversation collected into a single ZIP
- Uploads and AI images — your own uploaded files and ChatGPT's generated images, together in one archive
- One chat or many — the same row is in the menu of a multi-selection and of a project, and each file is named after its chat
- One download — no right-click-and-save on each image in turn
- Right where you work — the button sits in the conversation menu you already open
- Free — every image in a chat, and up to 7 chats at once from a selection or a project
Why Saving Images by Hand Falls Short
ChatGPT gives you no way to grab a conversation's images in bulk — you right-click and save each one, which gets old fast in a chat full of generated variations or reference uploads. This collects them all into one ZIP, so a long image thread is one download instead of twenty. Because it reads the conversation you already have open, there's nothing to re-load or re-generate — the whole set is packaged as it stands.
How to Use It
Get it from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons. It activates automatically on chatgpt.com.
On the chat whose images you want, click the ⋯ — on its row in the sidebar, or at the top of the open chat.
Click Download images, right under Export. When the chat has more than one image, a window shows them all, ticked — click the download button and every image in the conversation is packed into one ZIP and saved. A single image downloads on its own.
Free vs Pro
Free covers every image in a chat, and up to 7 chats at once from a selection or a project. Pro lifts the 7-chat cap and lets you pick which images go into the ZIP. For other things you might want to pull out of a chat, export saves the whole conversation as PDF, DOCX, Markdown, TXT, or JSON, and audio download saves any reply as an MP3. Frequently Asked Questions
Does it include AI-generated images?
Yes. The ZIP contains every image in the conversation — both the files you uploaded and the images ChatGPT generated.
Where is the download button?
In the chat's ⋯ menu, right under Export. Open the ⋯ on the chat you want — in the sidebar or at the top of an open chat — and click Download images. The same row is in the menu of a multi-selection and of a project, for the images of many chats at once.
Do I get one file or many?
One. When the chat has more than one image, they're all packed into a single ZIP, so there's nothing to save one by one; a chat with a single image saves that image as is.
Is it free?
Yes. Downloading every image in a chat is free. From a selection or a project it is free up to 7 chats at once; Pro lifts that cap and lets you pick which images go into the ZIP. Everything runs in your browser using your existing ChatGPT session.
