How the Print View Works
Printing chatgpt.com directly drags the whole app onto paper — the sidebar, the composer, the dark background. This page renders just the conversation, then hands it to your browser's own print dialog, where paper size, margins, and the Save-as-PDF destination are yours to set.

Do messages get split across pages?
The layout asks the browser to keep each message on one page, so short messages don't get sliced in half at a page boundary. A message that is itself longer than a page still has to split — there's no way around that on paper.
Does it print the dark theme?
